Buying Dirt Cheap at Online Liquidation Sales

If you are a business owner and need to purchase quality office furnishings or equipment, but cant afford to break the bank, liquidation auctions are a great way to go.  There are a number of different websites that host them so it is worth taking the time to research and save some big money.

When a business files for bankruptcy one of the ways they can make some of their money back is by liquidating all of their goods. This can be anything from office furniture auctions that try to move used desks and chairs, to heavy equipment auctions that sell very specific types of industrial equipment, like injection molding machines. For new business owners these are the types of expenses that can become extremely costly very quickly, and in the beginning stages of any business, can severely hurt your bottom line. So buying from liquidation sales can be really helpful in saving you 50 to 70 percent of the original price.

Professional liquidators will buy all the merchandise or equipment from a company, it is then their job to sell all that equipment within a given time period. That time period is usually when the lease is up for the company going out of business and they have to vacate the premises. Also Liquidators usually pay about 5 cents on the dollar for all of the goods and then make their money by selling at highly discounted prices.

So because the liquidator pays so little for the goods it is a good idea to offer a very low price when making a first offer if you have that option. And because they are usually under a time constraint they are under even more pressure to move the goods. A good example of this is someone I know who needed to buy used semiconductor equipment. This type of used equipment from private retailers can cost upwards of $10,000, but through an online liquidator he was able to find the machine he needed for $4,500. Of course this took some considerable research but the time it took to properly research the equipment saved him thousands of dollars.

A lot of online liquidators sell very specific equipment like this so taking the time to find what you need can really be worth the effort. Although like buying anything used online you need to make sure you do your due diligence and make sure your product is still of good quality and will work for awhile.

Good luck and happy hunting!
